Chocolate Chip Scones

Well, I am popping back in to deliver a delightful little recipe for anyone who would like to try it. These are called chocolate chip scones and they are some of the very best I have ever had! They are very tender and would go wonderfully with a hot cup of tea. I hope that you will try them!

Chocolate Chip Scones

3 cups all purpose flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
2 sticks unsalted butter, at room temperature
1/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
3 large eggs
1/3 cup buttermilk or plain yogurt
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Mix flour and baking powder in a bowl. Beat butter on high until creamy.
Add sugar and beat 3 to 5 minutes until pale and fluffy. Add eggs, one at
a time, beating after each. Scrape sides of bowl, reduce speed. Add flour
mixture; mix until blended. Scrape sides; add buttermilk and mix only until
blended. Fold in chocolate chips. Loosely cover dough with plastic wrap and
refrigerate about 30-45 minutes. Heat oven to 350. Pat into scone pan or cut
into wedges. Bake 15 minutes. Turn heat down to 325 and bake about 13
minutes longer, or until pale golden brown.

If you try these, let me know how you like them! Enjoy!
