How many of you had favorite Bible stories when you were little? My favorite story was (and still is) the story of Queen Esther. Maybe you liked the story of David and his mighty men or the travels of Apostle Paul. How about the miraculous birth of Christ or the account of Ruth and her change of life from poverty to blessing?
The stories of the the Bible are not just stories though, they are history. When you sit to read God’s Word do you realize that what you are reading really happened? The stories you read are true. Amazing thought. God’s Word is our manual for life, but it is also the complete and true story of the world from beginning to end. Some of the history recorded in the Bible has not even happened yet! Today, the history of the Bible is being proved true again and again as people dig deeper into the past.
So, how long has it been since you read this amazing history book? Let me challenge you to think about starting to read through the Bible a little each day. You might discover some new true stories you had forgotten about. Such as the story of Nehemiah, the many parables of Christ or the story of the healing of Dorcas. Remember, these stories are true and full of meaning! What is your favorite Bible story?
yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.
I will meditate on all your works
and consider all your mighty deeds.”
