In May

Wow! It has been a whole month since I wrote on here! Where does the time go! In the spring, the days seem to slip right by without us knowing. I have been wanting to share an original poem on here for a while and never got around to it. So, now that it is May I thought I would share this one I wrote about the month of May a couple weeks ago. Enjoy!

In the Maytime

In the Maytime
That most joyous month
Fresh-kissed by spring
on the edge of summer.

Flower and petal, leaf and tree
Fawn and deer, sunlight and dew.
Each is touched
by the newness of life again.

Hearts swept of winter
Delight in the awakening green.
Released, free, growing, new
Glad to be alive each day.

Morning sunlight brightens,
awakens the meadows of flowers
and I run barefoot
In the Maytime.

Springtime morning
